My good friend is having a baby in just a little over a month. I am so excited for her. And even more so because her DH just returned home from Iraq! (She got pregnant while her husband was home on leave). Anyhow, a few of us are throwing her a baby shower at the end of the week. We sat down a couple of weeks ago and made her baby shower invitations. I'm so pleased with the way they turned out.
The baby's nursery is done with an animal theme. (It's a boy) so we decided to go with an animal theme for the shower. I first came up with this:
The printed paper and CS is from Stampin Up! as well as the ribbon and paper peircer. The You're Invited is from SU's set Holiday's and Wishes (I think it's that one, or is it Hugs and Wishes?) It's one of the two. Anyhow, the animal is from a set from Pink Cat Studios called Wild Animals. It was waaaay too much coloring to do 17 of these babies so I decided to stick with the same design but go with smaller animals. My friend Chelsea had these cute little animal stamps with animals in pairs of two (yes, it was a Noah's ark set, don't know the maker). So we opted to use those, less coloring for doing so many. So, here is the final product: I am sooo thrilled with these and everyone loves them. They turned out awesome. I just hope the mom-to-be likes them as much. She hasn't seen them yet. I am also going to make a cake for the shower and I am going to attempt the stamping on cake thing. I think I know a way to do it. We'll see.
