Could it be? Could my mojo be coming back?

So I was heading to bed and decided to check out the color challenge on SCS before heading to bed. I was intrigued by the colors because they are colors that I would never think of putting together. I had to put something together before going to bed in hopes of finding my lost mojo. Here is what I came up with:

Colors used were: Cameo Coral, Creamy Caramel, Mellow Moss, Apricot Appeal

See what I mean by intriguing. I'm actually happy with the way this turned out. Maybe my mojo is on it's way back *wink* First I chose my stamp set. I went with the SU hostess set Sweet Dreams. I got it a couple of months ago and have only used it once so I decided it was time to break it in some more. I used Mellow Moss and Apricot Appeal markers to color the flowers and stamped those onto some white CS. Then I stamped the frame using Creamy Caramel (yes, the frame was an after thought, but it works, or at least I think it does). Then I cut it out using some decorative scissors I got from my mother-in-law for my birthday. (thanks mom! she got me a set of 18 different ones) I layered it on Cameo Coral CS and cut that out with the same scissors. I then stamped the flower in Apricot Appeal ink on coordinating CS and added that to my Moss card base. I used the Creamy Caramel ink for my sentiment layering that onto Cameo Coral as well and cutting with the same scissors. As I was putting the card together and looking for my Moss gingham ribbon, I ran across these cute layered flowers from Colorbok. The colors were prefect for my project so I added one. I think it gave the card that nice finishing touch.

Not my best work, but not bad either....

I do have a project!

Oh, you know what? I do have a project to share with you, I don't think I have shared this one yet. Over on A Shade of Blue I asked the Altered Arts team to Alter items bought at the dollar store this month. They rose to the challenge beautifully! I didn't participate since my husband is home on leave this month. But I did do this project a couple of months ago and this is what inspired this month's Altered Arts projects.
I found this great pop corn tin in the Target Dollar Spot a couple of months ago and thought, I could do something with that. So I made a vase for flowers. I just covered the container with paper and embellished it with a stamped image from SU (my favorited set these days, Garden Sillouettes) and some ribbon I got at HL.

Here is the finished project with flowers.

I'm telling you, you have to go check out what the AA team did on ASB. It's awesome! They totally rocked this month's project!

Ages and Ages

It has been Ages and Ages since I last blogged, I'm sorry. DH is home on leave right now and I haven't so much as picked up a single stamp in the last month I think. O.k. that's not totally true. I did make quick nametags for a church thing but other then that, I haven't done anything. I forgot to take pics of those, sorry... But I did take pics of the cake I made.
And here is a top view of the cake.

My writting skills still leave a little to be desired, which is sad since I have a message press set that I got for my birthday. If my writting is this bad with that set, imagine how bad it is without it though. *snicker*

Oh, and I forgot to share this one with you. In our church we do what is called Baby Blessings, sort of like a Christening, but not. Anyhow, my best friend had a baby in December and asked me if I could make a cake for the family party she did after her baby's blessing. I gladly said yes. The frosting consistency wasn't quite what I wanted but it still turned out nice.
