Technique Friday!

It's Friday! And you know what that means! It's time for Technique Friday! :)
I know, I know, it's late! But hey, it's 10:59 p.m. so technically it's still Friday! LOL

Anyhow, this weeks technique is Faux Stitching! I got the Crafter's Tool Kit thanks to the enabling of my friend Belinda who also happens to be my SU demo, who also happens to be my upline. LOL She has been demoing the tool kit for a few months now and I just had to have it! What can I say, she's good at her job. LOL So I decided this week would be faux stitching! I had to make an Easter Card to send to DD so I figured I would go ahead and make her card using faux stitching and it would kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
Supplies: (Most items are Stampin Up!) Pretty In Pink CS, Barely Banana CS, Whisper White CS, Crafter's Tool Kit, White Gel Pen, Baskets Full Of Fun Hostess Set, Tags So Much Hostess Set, All Year Cheer Set, Basic Black Ink, Various Stamping Write Markers, Q-Tip, Moss Gingham Ribbon

I got the long envelopes (6.75X3.5) recently and have been wanting to do a long card. So I made a card for my secret sister reveal package that was very similar to this. (only a few changes, but I forgot to take a pic of that one before sending it to her, but my main image was different and I used glitter on my SS's card, and a different sentiment) Anyhow, I decided to start out with Pretty In Pink since it was a spring time Easter Card. I cut my CS to be 6.5 square. Then I scored it at 3.25 and folded. This makes my finished card 6.5X3.25 so it fits perfectly into the envies I got! Then I put down a scrap piece of paper and stamped the flowers from Baskets Full Of Fun using Versamark ink on the right side of my card and then on part of the bottom. I then went over this with the Pretty In Pink pastel by using a Q-Tip. I then took my Paper Piercing Tool from the Crafter's Tool Kit and used that (along with the included guide and spongey thing) to make my even holes. Then I drew white lines where the holes were to create my faux stitching. After that I set the card aside and stamped the bunny from Tags So Much onto my Whisper White CS using Basic Black Ink. Then I colored the bunny and eggs using my markers. I don't remember exactly which colors I used though, sorry! Then I matted this with Barely Banana CS and attached it to the card. It was missing something so I got out my Moss Gingham (not sure of the maker but it's non-SU) and added that under the bunny. To finish it off I stamped Happy Easter using Basic Black Ink in the upper left side of the card. And Viola! A cute Easter card for DD!

My First Bella Cards!!!

I was playing with the Bella images that Alli sent me the other day. So I had to post what I made. I actually made all three of these the same day that I got the package from Alli but I have been busy since and haven't been able to post. So here are my Bella cards! :)

I love this first one, the colors are a little different then what I would normally pair together but it turned out so darn cute! This is DH's favorite of the ones I have done so far. He says the Grumpabella is perfect for me. *insert raised eyebrow smilie here* (Dude! How should I take that? LOL ) You can't see it in the scan but her robe is actually watercolored Bashful Blue.
Supplies for Grumpabella card: Apricot Appeal CS, Bashful Blue CS, Watercolor Paper, Print Pattern BG, It's Your Birthday Set, Grumpabella, Apricot Appeal Ink, Basic Black Ink, Paper Piercing Tool, White Signo Gel Pen, Watercolor Crayons, Aquapainter

This next one is going to a special friend! I swear it doesn't look this blochy in person.
Supplies for Javabellas Card: So Saffron CS, Pretty In Pink CS, Watercolor Paper, Print Pattern BG Stamp, Sincere Salutations, Javabellas, So Saffron Ink, Basic Black Ink, Watercolor Crayons, Primas, Brad, Aquapainter

And you know I had to do a purple and green card right? So here it is! The flowers in the BG are from the foam stamps that Alli sent!
Supplies for Flowahbella Card: Mellow Moss CS, Pale Plum CS, Watercolor Paper, Foam Flower Stamp, So Very Set, Flowahbella, Watercolor Crayons, Mellow Moss Ink, Basic Black Ink, Paper Piercing tools, White Signo Gel Pen, Aquapainter, Moss Gingham Ribbon

These all look so much better in person! I am totally hooked on Bellas now and I have to get some! Thanks Alli for sending me all these images! Can't wait to create more! *grin*

On a side note, I finally got the last of what I needed to finish Allison's gift and I have been finishing up Leah's and Dorinda's. DH is on leave right now so I haven't been spending much time stamping. We have plans tomorrow but I plan to spend Saturday putting the finishing touches on everything so I it can all go postal next week!

Technique Junkies Friday!

I am this month's featured stamper on A Shade Of Blue. I entered a contest and I won so I became the featured stamper. My winning card was a glitter window card. Someone on ASB asked me how I did my card so I thought that Glitter Windows would be the perfect technique for this weeks challenge. Here is my sample card. (Sorry for the bad pic, it looks better IRL. My camera is on the fritz so I had to use my scanner)

Supplies: Whisper White CS, Barely Banana CS, Banana Ribbon, White Organdy Ribbon, Colluzle Oval cutting system, French Script BG Stamp, Heartfelt Thanks Set, Everyday Flexible Phrases Set, Certainly Celery Marker, Apricot Appeal Marker, Packing Tape, Double Sided Tape, Dazzling Diamonds, Barely Banana Ink, Basic Black Ink

First I used my cutting system and oval template to cut an oval window in my Barely Banana CS. Then I inked my French Script BG stamp using Barely Banana Ink and inked up my window piece. After that was done I placed that over my Whisper White CS (don't attached yet) where I wanted my window to be. Then I inked my flower using Apricot Appeal on the flower and Certainly Celery on the stem. (I don't have a Barely Banana marker so that's why I used AA) Then I huffed on it (remember to remoisten the ink before stamping) and I stamped it through my window. This is so when you pull it away your image can be seen through the window. Then I removed the window piece and inked up the outline of the flower with Basic Black ink and stamped that on top of my flowered image. Now comes the glitter part. Then you take your packing tape and attached it to the back of your window. When you flip your window around you should be able to touch the sticky part. Then you sprinkle the glitter (I used Dazzling Diamonds from SU) onto the packing tape. The glitter will attach to the sticky part of the tape. Tap of the excess and put it back in your glitter container. This actually takes very little glitter. Then you take your double sided sticky tape and attach it to the back side of your window and attach that to your image piece. You should now be able to see your previously stamped image through your newly created glitter window. Finish your card as desired. I finished mine by attaching my window to my Whisper White card base and adding some Banana ribbon and then some Organdy ribbon to the left side of my card and stamping then "thanks friend" in the bottom right hand corner with Basic Black Ink. And Viola! A glitter window. It sounds more complicated then it is. It is actually sooo easy! You can also use small punches of different shapes and sizes to created multiple windows.

This is my winning card from ASB:
This is a card that I did for a VSN on SCS, it shows the glitter window technique with multiple windows:

Speaking of VSN!!!! Stop by SCS tonight and tomorrow! It's VSN time!! What is VSN you ask? Why VSN stands for Virtual Stamp Night. Every few months on SCS we have a Virtual Stamp Party. Every hour a new challenge will be posted. You have 45 minutes to complete that challenge. Here is a link to the VSN forum on SCS where you can see complete rules and it's also where the challenges will be listed!

Better...

So I just couldn't live with that last card! I had to redo it! Here is the card with some adjustments. It's better, but still not great.

No More Mojo!

Where oh where has my mojo gone, where oh where can it be?! It's official, my mojo is gone! Waaaaaahhhh! I thought I would try my hand at the sketch challenge today on SCS and then decided to combine it with the color challenge on ASB. This is my yucky results:

O.k. so it isn't terribly yucky, but still. My only consolation is that it looks better in real life.

Supplies: Watercolor Minis Stamp Set, Words Of Wisdom Stamp Set, Aida BG Stamp, Pale Plum CS, Certainly Celery CS, Whisper White CS, Perfect Plum Ink, Lavender Lace Ink, Certainly Celery Ink, Basic Black Ink

Hey look! 50 posts!

Well, I have actually made it to 50 posts on my blog! Cool! LOL

O.k. so my real reason for posting is, I tried my hand at a few challenges today. The cards are way easy so I'm not going to go into details. I'll just give you supply lists.

Card #1:
For the TLC challenge on SCS The challenge was to do a coffee and cream card (a.k.a. a card using only chocolates and vanillas, but the catch was, it couldn't be a card with coffee related things on it.)

Card # 2:
