Labels and Lists

I have been doing some work to my blog. Did you notice? I am working on labeling each of my posts (it's going to take a while since I have been keeping this blog since 2006) At the end of my posts you will see a label, or a category for that post. That way if a post is stamping related and you want to see more stamping related posts just click at the bottom of that post on the label you want and it will pull up all my other posts that are under that same category. Clear as mud? I just figured that since this blog is about so many different things such as stamping, cake decorating, the newly added photography, not to mention random posts and personal posts and all the other crafty things I do, this way it would be easier to find what you may be looking for on my blog. Seriously, clear as mud?

Now, I also have added new and updated blog lists. I added the blog lists that show not only the blogs I like but also when they were updated last. How cool is that? I love that blogger offers that.

Anyhow, I am still working on the label part and I have to update the friends and family blog list but I hope you enjoy what I have done far. :)

So I got Tagged by Susan over at Blue Robot. What a fun blog she has! She has got the most darling waterfall ATC's. Go check em' out! And today she has got a fun tutorial on how to make umbrella cards! Too cute! Thanks Susan for the TAG!

O.k. so here's the deal, I have to tell you 7 random things about myself. So here goes!

1. I got an email from my brother's ex girlfriend on my myspace acct. I haven't talked to her in 18 years! Small world huh!

2. In addition to stamping, I also like to make ceramics from start to finish. I do everything from pouring the slip into the mold all the way to painting them after they have been fired.

3. I love checking out real estate sites and dreaming about the house DH and I will someday buy.

4. I am a family support group leader for my husband's company. (o.k. so some of you know that, but this is harder then I thought)

5. I am getting satelitte TV and 5 MEG DSL at my new house (o.k. so some of you knew that too but, it's hard to think of things!)

6. My new favorite TV show is Army Wives on Lifetime. (O.k. so some of you.... alright, you get the picture)

7. I had a dog names Dusty who was a miniture Lassie when I was little.

O.k. so there you have it!

The internet Wo's.....

O.k. so, it's a day late. I know. But there is a very good reason. I was extremely busy yesterday morning and so around 2 yesterday afternoon I sat down to check email and then post this week's technique and what would ya know? Our internet went dead! The joys of paying out the wazoo to get crappy service right? So here we are 28 hours later and it's finally back on. I'm thinking it was a server because I was getting signal but no internet. I know there are a few other's here that also didn't have internet so I would venture to guess it was the whole post (well at least the ones that have cable internet). But when I move, I am getting DSL! I can't wait! *grin* and hopefully won't run into this too often. We have issues with our cable co. internet about 2-3 times a month. It's nuts. So anyhow, there you have it. That's why I couldn't post yesterday.

Do you want to win a tin?

On Friday I posted the 10th Technique Friday! And I made it a challenge for you. The challenge was to make a project using that technique and then show me what you did. I made it a contest were you can win a tin decorated by me and filled with embellishments and other goodies! Well, here is the tin! The colors are kind of off on my computer, It's not as bright as this IRL and the ribbons match better IRL too. Blog Candy packages revealed!

I can finally reveal the blog candy winners prize packages! I would have revealed them sooner but I wanted to wait until the winner's got their items. So without further ado:

Leah's Package!
Leah wanted something done in soft greens and yellows. I had this yummy paper that I got in a Birthday package from my MIL. It was perfect for this so I pulled it out and covered the notebook. I used the speckled composition notebook for this (you know the black and white ones) I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper and then I added some Night Of Navy CS for the binding and sealed the whole thing with a thin layer of the Modge Podge. Then I tied some ribbon around it to finish it off with a tag. Then I did the cards, check book cover and pen to match.


Dorinda's Package!
Dorinda the little sneak (love ya D!) said to just use whatever colors and to surprise her. So I chose to use Red and Black. I used yummy ribbons on the side of the spiral notebook.
Allison's Thank You Gift!
I don't think Allison has gotten her's yet since the package went to Canada so I will just post what it looks like. I went to my monthly stamp club meeting at my demo/uplines house last month and we made this rockin' Photo Wallets! So I just HAD to make one for Allison as a small thank you. Allison likes Earth Elements colors so I used So Saffron (I know, it's a Rich Regal but it went well. lol) Then I used Really Rust, Basic Black, Old Olive, and Not Quite Navy. I started this a while ago (shortly after I decided to make her a thank you gift) but I had to wait on the mini envies for the photo sleeves. Here it is on the outside:

SCS Bloggers RAK Club!

I got my very first Blogger's RAK today from The Splitcoast Bloggers Club! Nancy over at Nancy's Creative Mess sent me this gorgeous card!
I love the use of the scallop punch and the white gel pen to accent the scallops. And I love the sparkly embossed flower! If you haven't seen Nancy's blog you have to! (use the link at the front of this post!) I just checked it out for the first time after I got her RAK and it's a fun blog! She does great work! Thank you Nancy! You made my day!

Problems, problems, problems!

Jeez! I have been trying to log on to my blog to update for the last few days. I have done everything from deleting the cookies to deleting the internet files and beyond! Nothing worked. So finally I figured the problem must be my browser. So I switched browsers and this new one so far is working great. Hey, I got on to update my blog right? LOL Anyhow, sorry I haven't been on. I know it has been a long while since I have updated. I also know I promised a tutorial for the shaving cream tech. Well I have been busy and then we went on vacation and then we got home and I was really not feeling well. I am somewhat starting to get better so I thought I would update my blog and let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you. As soon as I can I will stamp something and post it. I have done some stamping but I can't post it because it's a surprise for someone. LOL Anyhow, like I said, as soon as I can I will stamp something and I promise, it will be something I can post this time.

I know, I know, it's been a long time since I have posted. We have been busy, what else can I say. I haven't had much time to stamp unfortunately. We got two boys placed with us for two days. they were horrible, mean, rude little boys. But they went back to their dad. On Sunday we got three more kids placed for two weeks. Their foster mom had to go out of town so we were asked if we could take them. It's going o.k. although it has been a bumpy road. They are supposed to go back on the 12th so hopefully I will get some stamping done after that. Not much else to report.

Welcome to the new blog!

Welcome to my new blog. I didn't like the old one so I deleted it. This new blog will have my stamping stuff, (i.e. cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects) as well as all things crafty that I like to do. I may every once and a while update on how our adoption process is going as well. Hope you like the new blog!
