In my mail today I got a wedding announcement for my cousin Jeremy and his future wife Sarah. So I thought I would make them a wedding card. So here it is!
I got an order from Stampin Up today and in it were my new SAB (Sell-A-Brations) sets. I decided right away that Happy Harmony would be the perfect set to use. So first I chose my colors. The announcement was a deep purple so I thought using purple would probably be a good idea and anyone who knows me knows that Purple and Green are my favorite colors! So I stamped the French Script background onto my Mellow Moss card base. Then I used my Stampin Write Markers to color my flowers. I used Mellow Moss for the stems and I used Elegant Eggplant for the flowers. I stamped that onto my Very Vanilla CS. That looked kind of plain to me so I DTP'ed the edges of my Very Vanilla piece by dragging the edges along the Mellow Moss Ink Pad. It still looked plain so I took my sponge dauber and I sponged a little Mellow Moss ink around the sides. I was starting to like the look a little better but felt it needed to be more aged looking so I took another dauber and sponged some Creamy Caramel ink around the rest of the piece including over where I put the Mellow Moss ink. I really liked the effect but felt it needed to be distressed more so I took out my trusty bone folder and I ran it along the edges of my piece to distress the edges. Then I paired it with a piece of Elegant Eggplant cut slightly larger then my image piece. I distressed the Elegant Eggplant piece as well. Then I decided that the card base was looking a little plain too so I DTP'ed the edges of the card using Mellow Moss ink and I sponged both Mellow Moss and Creamy Caramel all over the base of the card. Then I added my image piece the base. It needed some ribbon to I added my hodgepodge pieces and some ribbon I got from Peggy (Favorite Grandma from SCS). This was the perfect touch. Then I added the words "Wishing You" from the set from the Holiday Mini called, what else but Wishing You. LOL On the inside I stamped "Happiness Always" from the Happy Harmony set along with "Happy Wedding Day" from All Year Cheer 3. "Wishing You Happiness Always...." Yes the perfect card for a wedding, or at least I think so.
A mother by any other name would be as sweet?
