Delightful Birthday

For this weeks Technique Challenge and Sketch Challenge on SCS. I am so pleased with the way this turned out! I love it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Blender Pen, Real Red Marker, Black Grosgrain Ribbon
Stamp Sets: Delight In Life, It's Your Birthday, Aida Cloth Background

I began with my flower from Delight In Life. The technique on SCS was called Blurred Vision which is an extremely easy watercolor technique. First I stamped my flower using basic black ink onto my Whisper White square. Then I took my blender pen and I gently brushed the lines of the flower outward. This created a shadowed (blurred vision/watercolor) effect. Then I decided to give the flower some pop by taking my Real Red Marker and coloring just parts of the flower. Then I matted the flower onto Basic Black Cardstock. Then I decided that the card would need just a little more red so I took some Real Red Cardstock and I stamped my Aida Cloth BG stamp using Basic Black ink, then matted that to Basic Black Cardstock. Then I decided I wanted it to be a white card base so I took some Whisper White and attached everything to it according to the sketch challenge. It was missing something so stamped Happy Birthday from the It's Your Birthday set using Basic Black ink to the bottom right hand corner. It was still missing something so I decided to add some black grosgrain ribbon to it.
Perfectly done if I do say so myself!
